Color Landscape

Portraiture

Theatrical

Growing up in the mountains of Montana, landscape was something I took for granted. I would go out for days on end trying to capture the beauty surrounding me.  I just couldn't make it work; I couldn't come close to capturing a part of what my senses experienced. The harder I tried, the further I would be from succeeding.  I just could not find the balance in the image.  I shot early mornings till the magic hour of sunset and nothing.  Then I went out to see what I could capture after sunset and it started to click.   I became fascinated by how colors shifted, transformed and were sculpted by whatever light source was available.  That's when I discovered the photos were about color and color became the subject.  This process began to creep out of the dark and landscapes began to transform and work for me.  Now in travel I am absorbed by the colors and textures of new places.
